UNM rallies in Zugdidi

Hours after the ruling team’s closing campaign rally in capital Tbilisi, the opposition United National Movement (UNM) is holding a rally in Zugdidi city of western Georgia.

UNM members addressed supporters, urging to go to the polls on this Saturday runoffs.

UNM’s Zugdidi mayoral candidate Anzor Melia called on his supporters to vote for him, promissing to protect votes  “until the last minutes of life.”

Jailed ex-Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili’s letter was also read during the rally, saying he is “Putin’s personal prisoner.”

Saakashvili noted that “many times, Georgia’s libaration started from Samegrelo.”
