UNM rallies in support of ex-president Saakashvili on January 4

The opposition United National Movement (UNM) party will hold a rally in support of ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili on January 4 at 6 p.m. at the Government’s House in Tbilisi and Bidzina Ivanishvili’s residence in Shekvetili, Guria.

Levan Khabeishvili, the UNM Chairmanship candidate, stated the party is joining the worldwide rally called by Mark Feygin, a Russian blogger and human rights activist, with the hashtag #SaveMisha. Feygin urged those residing outside Georgia to gather at Georgian embassies at noon local time.

Levan Khabeishvili stated that 2023 would be a pivotal year for the UNM party in its battle for freedom, peace, and Georgia’s European future.

“Georgians must win to reclaim our historical place in Europe, in the civilized world, where we are meant to be without Russian oligarchs and evils. The people fighting for freedom and peace in Ukraine will ultimately destroy terrorist Putin and his Russia, and we must be collaborators in this triumph,” he stated.

On December 24, Feygin stated: “We have the plan to help Mikhail, but we will wait for the Georgian government’s response. If nothing occurs, we will take action. However, everyone should be involved in this effort.”

The rallies will take place in New York, Washington, Berlin, The Hague, Stockholm, Athens, and Barcelona.
