UNM member says ex-president UNM's non-alternative leader, his involvement decisive

“I believe we will fight to the end. We will coordinate our efforts and fight together,” said Sopo Japaridze, a representative of ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili.

According to Japaridze, she shares Mikheil Saakashvili’s stance that unity has no alternative. 

“Together, we should defeat poverty and the Russian regime, create jobs, and European health and education systems. We should drive our country out of the crisis once and forever. Mikheil Saakashvili has always been and will be a non-alternative leader of the United National Movement. His involvement is decisive,” she said. 

Sopo Japaridze added that the UNM door is open for everybody and society would see many new and worthy faces among the party members. 

Jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili said on April 19 that in the decisive moment for the country, the society demands unity and this means a united opposition list at the elections.
