UNM: GD regime detains 15 innocent, peaceful protesters, including four UNM members; regime seeks to intimidate patriots
“Yesterday evening, the Russian regime of criminals and traitors detained 15 innocent, peaceful protesters, among them four members of the United National Movement (UNM): Aleksandre Khabeishvili, Sergo Megrelishvili, Abo Naveriani, and Kakha Mzhavanadze. The regime’s aim is to intimidate patriots, yet it refuses to recognise that the Georgian people will not accept Russian domination,” states a press release issued by the UNM party.
According to UNM, repression against patriots persists.
“The regime’s primary goal is to silence patriots and deter them from fighting for Georgia’s liberation from the Russian puppet regime. They refuse to acknowledge that the Georgian people will not tolerate Russian rule or the seizure of Georgia by criminal gangs.
The peaceful resistance will carry on, and it will culminate in the victory of the Georgian people! We stand in solidarity with all political prisoners. Glory to Georgia!” the UNM statement reads.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), an investigation into the events of October 4 has identified 15 suspects; 13 are in custody, while 2 remain at large.
