UNM, GD conflict in Gurjaani

Supporters of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party clashed with a member of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) party Giorgi Botkoveli, who arrived in the flood-hit Gurjaani, Kakheti, and accused the government of insufficient efforts to cope with the disaster outcomes.

Locals said the UNM was interested in PR campaigning.

Meanwhile, disaster elimination works continue in Gurjaani, with the electricity supply restored and central roads partially cleaned.

The flood damaged infrastructure, houses and agriculture plots. Representatives of the central and local authorities stay in the region monitoring the works.
