UNM claims its Chair Bokuchava met with EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos

Tina Bokuchava, the chairperson of the United National Movement, met with EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.

According to Tina Bokuchava, she spoke with Marta Kos about Georgia and the importance of implementing a sanctions policy.

“Today, the EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos was invited to the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament, where she openly stated that Georgia will be her priority and that there is a real chance for the enlargement of the European Union within her mandate; however, due to Ivanishvili’s anti-European policies, Georgia is losing this opportunity. Moreover, Georgia is losing millions of euros in funding, which would be directed towards independent media and non-governmental organizations, to strengthen our country’s and citizens’ resilience against disinformation, which Ivanishvili uses against the Georgian people as an instrument of Russia’s hybrid war.

I spoke in detail with Marta Kos about Georgia, the importance of implementing a sanctions policy, and individual sanctions against Ivanishvili and his allies, including businessmen closely connected with him, to force him to leave power, hold new elections in the country, release all political prisoners, and return Georgia to the path of democratic European development,” stated Tina Bokuchava.
