UNM Chankotadze urges to withdraw transparency bill, warning even one death could have very bad outcome
Devi Chankotadze, a member of the opposition United National Movement party, urged the ruling Georgian Dream to withdraw the draft law “On transparency of foreign influence” during the parliament session.
According to Chankotadze, the adoption of this law will result in adverse consequences.
“Our military veterans are unanimously opposed to this law. The people currently demonstrating against it believe it resembles Russian legislation.
My advice, as a man, as a soldier, as a general, is to withdraw this law. It will lead to very dire consequences. I warn you: if even one person loses a life, it will have a very bad outcome. Withdraw this law,” declared Devi Chankotadze.
