UNM chair: "Russian Dream" sabotages Georgia's European future

Levan Khabeishvili, chair of the opposition United National Movement (UNM), says that Georgia is governed by the “Russian authorities” who are sabotaging the country’s European future.

According to Khabeishvili, Georgians should be aware that the “Russian dream” [i.e. ruling Georgian Dream party] will not tolerate Georgian military officers and generals.

“Generals who fought against Russia are persecuted under their rule, and the commander-in-chief is tortured to death in prison,” said Khabeishvili.

“Russian Dream is sabotaging our European future. They will do everything to prevent us from gaining EU candidate status. Whatever law they enact, I mean, the Russian law, serves precisely to prevent us from obtaining EU membership,” he went on.
