Chairman of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) Levan Khabeishvili demands immediate and unconditional closure of the state border with Russia for the security of the country.

Khabeishvili reminded GD Chair Irakli Kobakhidze and Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili when they were speaking about the interests of hundreds of thousands of Georgian citizens when direct Russia-Georgia flights were restored.

The UNM Chair said the government had to offer Georgian citizens a safe return to Georgia if they wanted so.

Khabeishvili further said given the current situation in Russia, Putin’s “private prisoner” ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili had to be released.

“Also, control should be established on approximately 10 000 Putinists in Georgia, who nobody knows and what they do and aspire at here,” Khabeishvili said.
