UNM Chair calls on OSCE PA to engage in Georgian parliamentary elections
Chair of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) party, Tina Bokuchava called on the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly to pledge full support to the Georgian “freedom-loving” people and actively engage in the election observation mission that would “decide Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic Integration.”
According to Bokuchava, the Georgian government tries to derail the country from the Euro-Atlantic integration path.
“Opressing critical voices and their neutralization is what strengthens the authoritarians, who attempt to preserve the power against the will of people. The Georgian government adheres to this method trying to derail the country from the Euro-Atlantic integration path.
However, this hazardous tendency may change through the key October parliamentary elections in Georgia. I call on the committee members and the assembly to actively engage in the election observation mission that would decide Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic Integration,” she said.
