UNM and GD not to reconcile, Executive Secretary of ruling party says

“I and Irakli Kobakhidze (GD Chair) on the one side and Saakashvili (ex-president) on the other side cannot reconcile, we cannot agree on the past,” Mamuka Mdinaradze, Executive Secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party, told reporters.

As Mdinaradze noted, the President talks about the correct assessment of the past years and making conclusions. President was not the “author” of reconciliation.

“Why do you put forward the narrative of reconciliation and virtual consent, which has not put on the agenda by its “author.” The President of Georgia is not the author of this. She talks about another topic, while you talk about quite a different thing. I do not think it’s right. That person talked to us too, I was one of the participants in one of the meetings and she said that we have to evaluate the past years correctly and draw conclusions. We had similar conversations. You talk about national consent and reconciliation.

I and Irakli Kobakhidze on the one side and Saakashvili on the other side cannot reconcile, we cannot agree on the past. The President of Georgia may have an intention. Everyone can have general assessments in relation to the past, but there has not been any reconciliation or similar issues on the agenda,” Mdinaradze told reporters.
