Unity-National Movement's Vashadze warns Liberty Bank of consequences post-elections

Giorgi Vashadze, one of the leaders of the Unity-National Movement coalition, has warned Liberty Bank, labelling it a “robber” for imposing distressing conditions on pension loans. He cautioned that the bank would face consequences after the elections.

“My dear pensioners, starting December 1, you will no longer have to pay interest rates of GEL 70, 80, or 90 on your pension loans; you will keep that money for yourselves,” he stated.

Vashadze also pledged that if the Unity-National Movement prevails, pensions will be increased to GEL 1,000, ensuring that pensioners will not have to “choose between medications and food.”

“We declare unequivocally that all pension loans will be annulled by December 1 following our victory. No pensioner will be required to repay this money to Liberty Bank. We have been advocating for this issue for years, but the Georgian Dream has found time for everyone except for pensioners,” he said.
