Unity-National Movement demands voter database from CEC to enable election verification

The Unity-National Movement coalition has launched a new campaign titled “Verify Where You Voted.”

Tamar Kordzaia, one of the coalition’s leaders, stated during a briefing that the elections held on October 26 were marred by technological manipulation and widespread fraud.

“The international community continues to provide unprecedented support for the protests of the Georgian population. Antony Blinken’s statement calling for an international investigation is essential for verifying the election outcomes. There is no doubt that these elections involved technological manipulation and mass forgery,” she asserted.

Kordzaia is calling for the Central Elections Commission (CEC) to provide a voter database that would allow individuals to confirm where they cast their votes.

“This program from the CEC would enable voters to verify that their votes were neither lost nor misappropriated. If the government believes that the elections were not rigged or that the outcomes were not manipulated, it can create such a database to restore trust among Georgian citizens. If it refuses to do so, it suggests a fear of citizens who are eager to verify the results,” she concluded.
