“I see the role of Mikheil Saakashvili (jailed ex-president) as unifier. Bidzina Ivanishvili (founder and Honorable Chair of the Georgian Dream party) divides, Misha Unites,” said Giorgi Vashadze, one of the leaders of the Unity political bloc.
According to Vashadze, the goal of Unity (unification of the United National Movement and the Strategy Aghmashenebeli parties) is to change the government through elections.
“Our goal is to change the government on October 26, for the European Union to win over Russian aspirations and victory over confrontation. Strong Georgia should win over weak Georgia, return of immigrants to win over immigration, and demographic progress to win over demographic catastrophe,” Vashadze said.
Vashadze added that it was up to other parties, what they would do for their goals wishing everybody success but the Georgian Dream (GD) party that “headed Georgia toward Russia.”
