United Airports of Georgia Dir/Gen enthusiastic for British Airways' entry
Direct regular flights between Georgia and the United Kingdom are set to commence on March 30, 2025, with British Airways offering four flights per week between London and Tbilisi. The agreement was signed in London by Irakli Karkashadze, General Director of the United Airports of Georgia, and Neil Chernoff, Strategic Planning Officer of British Airways.
“The Association of Georgian Airports has successfully completed intensive negotiations with British Airways, one of Europe’s leading airlines. As a result, direct flights will connect London and Tbilisi. These flights will operate from London Heathrow Airport, one of Europe’s busiest air travel hubs, which presents a challenging environment due to its high traffic.
We are thrilled to welcome the British flagship airline to the Georgian market and to establish a direct connection between London and Tbilisi, a milestone that is significant for our bilateral relations. Furthermore, our partnership with American Airlines will provide British Airways passengers with convenient transit options to numerous U.S. cities,” Karkashadze stated.
