United Airports of Georgia announces tender for new passenger terminal at Telavi Airport

The United Airports of Georgia has announced a tender for the construction of a new passenger terminal at Telavi Airport. Once completed, the airport will be able to handle approximately 50,000 passengers annually.

Initiated by the Georgian government, the Telavi Airport development project aims to restore regular air services in the Kakheti region and increase access to air transport. The project is expected to improve domestic air connectivity, expand travel opportunities between regions, and support the growth of tourism and business flows in Kakheti.

According to the United Airports of Georgia, the architectural concept for the new terminal was developed by Khmaldze Architects, which won the relevant competition. The project envisages the creation of modern and functional passenger infrastructure, with the architectural design taking into account Kakheti’s environment and the characteristics of the region.

The development of Telavi Airport is being carried out in parallel with the construction of a new terminal at Mestia Airport. Both projects are part of a unified strategy for the development of Georgia’s regional airports and are aimed at integrating them into the country’s unified aviation network.

Tender bids can be submitted from September 25 through September 29. The winning company will be required to complete the construction works within 21 months of signing the contract.
