Unemployment rate reduced to 19%

The unemployment rate in Q4, 2021 reduced by 1.4% to 19% year on year, the National Statistics Service (GeoStat) of Georgia reported.

The workforce makes up 51.2% of the total population. The share of the workforce activity reduced by 0.3% in urban settlements but increased by 3.1% in rural settlements.

The employment level in urban settlements went up by 0.9%, in urban settlements – by 1.7%. The unemployment rate is higher among men than women. It decreased by 1.0 points among women and 1.7 among men in Q4.

The share of the workforce activity among men amounted to 63.1%, while 40.9% among women.
