Wendy Morton, UK Minister for European Neighbourhood and the Americas at the Foreign, Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO), is visiting Georgia on Monday.
UK’s Wendy Morton will meet with the high-ranking Georgian officials.
Following a meeting with Georgian Parliament Speaker Archil Talakvadze, British Minister met with Georgian Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani.
According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry (MFA), the parties discussed the regional developments and the security environment. Georgian FM briefed British Minister on the situation in the Russia-occupied territories of Georgia.
The UK reaffirmed its strong support for Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, Georgian MFA reported.
“The importance of the Georgian-UK Wardrop Strategic Dialogue, UK/Georgia: Strategic Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, and cybersecurity were in focus. The parties also talked about the cooperation in the field of defense and security,” MFA said.
Wendy Morton will also meet with Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili, Education Minister Mikheil Chkhenkeli. UK’s Minister will visit Odzisi village near the occupation line, Georgian MFA stated.
