Ukrainian Embassy thanks Georgia for assisting Ukrainian people

We thank all the countries, especially Georgia, that welcomed and sheltered the Ukrainian citizens, stated Oleksandr Shulga, the First Secretary of the Ukrainian Embassy for Economic Affairs.

“Georgian government, the private sector and the citizens have been trying to collect aid for Ukraine since the first day of the war. 710 tons of aid had been sent from Georgia. Embassy’s account also receiving donations of 985 000 GEL, over $45,000 and €1,500,” the Embassy representative said.

“More than 20 000 refugees from Ukraine have been registered in Georgia since the start of the war. Ukrainians had received not only asylum but also the warmth of Georgian people,” Irina Mankhonus, the Second Secretary for Consular Affairs, noted.
