Ukrainian and Georgian people always support each other, Verkhovna Rada MP says
Ukrainian and Georgian people always support each other but sometimes challenge difficult moments in the political or diplomatic fields, Yuliya Ovchynnikova, MP of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People party, told the GPB First Channel, adding she is confident that the relations will become closer.
“Ukrainian and Georgian people always support each other. We have shared values, a love of freedom, and a common vector of European development. I am sure that whatever happens, our people will always try to support each other. We sometimes have difficult moments in the political arena. There is a need to do more, but it was an excellent step when the Georgian Parliament Speaker came to Ukraine. He was in the Kyiv region to see the situation after the aggression. I am sure that the relations between Georgia and Ukraine will be better and closer,” said Yuliya Ovchynnikova.
According to her, the IRI survey shows the nature of relations between the Ukrainian and Georgian people.
“Based on the IRI poll, Ukrainian people believe Georgia is the fourth among the countries supporting Ukraine the most. The first is Poland, followed by Great Britain and the United States. I think this is a good indicator of our relationship. Despite these historical relations, we have other periods in the diplomatic area. But we have the common bases, values, love of freedom, and solidarity. The stronger the solidarity and support are, the sooner we will stop this occupation together and restore peace to our lands,” Rada MP added.
