Ukraine is grateful to Georgia for its consistent support, said Andrei Kasanov, Ukraine’s Chargé d’Affaires following the meeting with Deputy Georgian Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia.

According to Kasanov, Russia should not stay unpunished for its aggression against Georgia in 2008. He also welcomed the UN General Assembly-adopted resolution co-sponsored by Georgia.

“Russia should not go unpunished for its aggression against Georgia in 2008. I want to assure you that Russia is fully responsible for the war against Ukraine and the Ukrainian people,” he said.

The resolution drafted with Georgia’s co-sponsorship criticizes Russia for creating a ‘dire’ humanitarian situation and demands Russia end the war in Ukraine. The UN General Assembly urges Russia for the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, medical personnel, aid workers, and journalists.
