Ukraine extends COVID-19 quarantine until May 11

The quarantine restrictions over the spread of COVID-19 in Ukraine have been extended until May 11. The corresponding decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting on April 22.

According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the government has a clear plan for quitting the quarantine, it consists of five stages. “We have a very clear quarantine exit plan. The plan consists of five stages. There is a starting point for the implementation of this plan. We can conditionally call it ‘E Day,’ that is, End-of-Quarantine Day.

We can start the implementation of our plan subject to a favorable epidemic situation. According to our forecasts, May 11 should be this day. Therefore, today we will extend the quarantine until that date,” Shmyhal said, as reported by UNIAN News Agency.

Prior to this, the quarantine was set until April 24. There were 6,592 confirmed coronavirus cases in Ukraine as of the morning of April 22.
