UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 on Georgian Public Broadcaster

The UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 will be provided exclusively by the Georgian Public Broadcaster.

The Georgian Public Broadcaster acquired the championship broadcasting license within the framework of European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and UEFA cooperation, along with 37 other member broadcasters. The license includes the right to broadcast the tournament across all media platforms. The Georgian Public Broadcaster will air the Women’s Euro 2025 on the First Channel, First Channel Sport, Georgian Radio and the internet platform 1tvplay.ge. The championship will take place in Switzerland from July 2 to 27, 2025.

“One of the most important objectives of the Georgian Public Broadcaster is to support women’s empowerment, which includes raising the visibility of female athletes. It is a priority for us to take meaningful steps in this direction, a good illustration of which is our partnership with UEFA, together with other members of the European Broadcasting Union, regarding the exclusive broadcasting of the Women’s Euro 2025. The collaborative approach offers increased scope and, consequently, more effectiveness,” stated Tina Berdzenishvili, the Director General of the First Channel.

By purchasing the license for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, GPB together with other European Broadcasting Union members, has demonstrated its support for the strengthening of women’s football and the encouragement of women’s participation in sports.

Together with the First Channel, the championship will be exclusively broadcast by broadcasters from several European countries: AMPTV, ARD, BBC, BHRT, BNR, BNT, CR, CT, CyBC, ERR, ERT, HRT, ITV, LR, LRT, LTV, MRT, MTVA, NOS, ORF, PBS, ROR, RTE, RTBF, RTCG, RTK, RTL, RTS, RTSH, RTV, RTVS, RUV, SRG SSR, TRT, TVR , VRT and ZDF.

The deal reflects the core strategy of EBU and its Members of enhancing the promotion of women’s sports with strong and even more increased Members’ coverage complemented by the women’s football offer of Eurovision Sport.”

Eurovision sport, the European Union of Broadcasters’ new streaming platform, will also provide coverage of Euro 2025 among women; Georgian users can get this product for free at 1tvplay.ge.
