President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan offered his condolences to Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili over the death of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II.

In his condolence letter, the UAE President expresses his heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the people of Georgia for their great loss.

“With deep sorrow and pain, we have learnt about the death of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness Ilia II. We offer Your Excellency, friendly Georgian people and Patriarch’s family our heartfelt condolences for this great loss,” reads the letter.

Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II passed away on March 17 at the age of 93.

Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, will be laid to rest on Sunday, March 22, in the Sioni Cathedral.
