Two-way traffic restored on Tbilisi University Street

On the recently rehabilitated University Street, traffic has been restored in both directions. Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, along with his deputy Irakli Bendeliani and the chairman of the Tbilisi City Council Giorgi Tkemaladze, inspected the rehabilitation works.

The project involved a comprehensive overhaul, including the replacement and updating of all types of underground communication networks, the rehabilitation of 2.5 kilometers of roadway with multiple layers of asphalt, the installation of air wires in underground cable-channels, the establishment of a new outdoor lighting network with modern LED lights, and the creation of a four-lane road with designated waiting areas for public transport.

Additionally, pavement works are nearing completion, and slope protection walls were implemented in specific areas for road safety.

The entire project was funded with 18 million GEL from the capital’s budget.
