Two Georgian citizens, Sergo Gugutishvili and Tamaz Kakhabrishvili, who were unlawfully detained by the Russian occupants near Koshka village of the Gori Municipality, have been released, the State Security Service of Georgia (SSG) reported.
The SSG said it kept constant communication with the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia and regularly raised the issue at the meetings of the internationally-mediated Group on Incidents Prevention and Response Mechanisms (IPRM) and Geneva Discussions.
“The occupation forces bear full responsibility for the destructive actions carried out in the occupied regions of Georgia and along the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL). The central government, in cooperation with international partners, remains committed to actively working towards the release of all Georgian citizens unlawfully detained in the occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions’ territories,” the SSG said.
