Two persons charged for Archil Tatunashvili’s torture imposed imprisonment
Davit Gurtsiev and Alek Taboev, charged for having contributed to torture of Archil Tatunashvili, Georgian soldier killed in occupied Tskhinvali region, were imposed imprisonment based on the decision of Mtskheta Regional Court today.
The first sitting into Tatunashvili’s case was held earlier this afternoon. Chief Prosecutor’s Office presented charges to Gurtsiev and Taboev on June 14. State Attorney is defending their interests.
Based on the investigation, the two persons tortured Tatunashvili for participation in August 2008 Georgia-Russia war and inflicted him about 100 body injuries. Tatunashvili died.
The charge presented to Davit Gurtsiev and Alek Taboev envisages from 9 to 15 years in prison.
