Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan awarded a special prize to Civic Safety Colonel Mamuka Sepiashvili, who serves as Deputy Head of the Firefighting-Rescue Department of the Emergency Situations Management Service, for the rescue efforts in the earthquake-hit Turkish Adyaman and Antakya provinces.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the prize-awarding ceremony was held at the event organized by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) in Ankara Presidential Palace.
The Georgian 200-member rescue squad departed for Turkey on the first day of the disaster and had engaged in the rescue mission for 18 days.
