Turkish citizen wanted by Interpol detained in Batumi

Officers of the Adjara Main Division of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have detained a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, J.K., born in 1973, who was wanted by Interpol under a Red Notice. The arrest took place in Batumi, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

According to the ministry, the individual has been wanted by the Republic of Turkey since November 2025 on charges of unlawful deprivation of liberty and making threats.

Extradition procedures stipulated by law are currently underway against the detainee.
