Turkish citizen wanted by Interpol arrested in Batumi

Officers of the Adjara Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested a Turkish citizen wanted under an Interpol Red Notice, the ministry said.

According to the ministry, the individual was wanted at the request of Turkish law enforcement authorities on suspicion of fraud committed through electronic data processing systems, banks, or credit institutions.

“Following investigative measures, law enforcement officers arrested the wanted individual in Batumi.

“Extradition procedures are currently underway,” the ministry said.
