Tsotne Ivanishvili: Violence is unacceptable, authorities investigating such cases; maintaining order is essential

“I condemn violence; any type of violence is completely unacceptable to me. Recently, the authorities have been investigating such cases, and there have been certain actions taken,” said Tsotne Ivanishvili,  the youngest son of the Georgian Dream founder, Bidzina Ivanishvili.

Speaking at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi during the Day of Family Purity and Respect for Parents, Ivanishvili said maintaining order in the country is essential.

“I can’t say anything except that I’m sorry about the violence. All this should be assessed by the relevant agencies. All this should be carefully considered. In my opinion, everything is going well. I am not in a position to know anything about the investigation. The last time I spoke about the violence, there was a huge response. There were a thousand different opinions, and even conspiracy theories, as if my comments on violence were a strategic move or a step toward entering politics, etc. All this is really frivolous. I expressed the same opinion exactly a year ago. My position has always been consistent. Any type of violence should be avoided as much as possible. It is necessary to maintain order in the country,” he stated.
