Tskaltubo to become world-class spa resort, PM says

The state will invest tens of millions of Georgian Lari to transform Tskaltubo into a modern, world-class spa resort, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili Tuesday said at the presentation of the investment project New Life for Tskaltubo.

The Prime Minister has announced that the government has listed 14 sanatoriums of the resort for sale at a total value of about 50 million GEL.

“We expect the private sector will invest about 500 million GEL in the resort’s development. In addition, the state undertakes to invest tens of millions of GEL to make Tskaltubo a modern, European-level, world-class spa resort,” the PM stated.

According to the government, the project will create over 3,200 new jobs, and over 6,000 beds, and significantly increase tourism.
