Trial of alleged gang violence suspects continues

Tbilisi City Court is holding yet another trial in the case of Andro Chichinadze, Onise Tskhadadze, and nine other individuals accused of gang violence.

During the proceedings, an investigator from the Criminal Police Department, Davit Kitiashvili, was questioned. Kitiashvili stated that he reviewed video footage recorded by agency cameramen from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) press service and prepared a report. He identified three defendants in the footage: Kerashvili, Tetrashvili, and Mirtskhulava. According to the investigator, the footage shows them throwing fireworks and blunt objects at police officers.

The defence lawyers requested the witness to identify the police officers in the footage towards whom the defendants were throwing objects. However, they argued that the police officers were not visible in the footage.

The trial is proceeding amidst noise and disruptions.
