New Year's lighting removal limits traffic on Rustaveli Avenue

Tbilisi City Hall has imposed traffic restrictions on Rustaveli Avenue from midnight to 6 a.m. on January 18 due to the removal of the New Year’s illuminations.

Vehicles are permitted to drive in the streets of Leonidze, Ingorokva, Alexander Chavchavadze, Griboedov, Baratashvili, and Tabukashvili. Traffic will be permitted to move from Melikishvili avenue to the remainder of Mtatsminda streets through Janashia, Tarkhnishvili, Tatishvili, Chovelidze, and Zandukeli streets, and then by Barnovi, Gogebashvili, and Kakabadze streets.

Cars will be able to reach Melikishvili Avenue and the Rustaveli metro station through Griboedov, Makashvili, Barnovi, and Shanidze streets. Only Rustaveli Avenue is closed; cars can, however, travel along Mikheil Javakhishvili Street and the right bank of the Mtkvari after turning onto Rustaveli Avenue at the Olive Tree.
