Traffic to be restricted on Chavchavadze Avenue September 8

The rehabilitation of Giorgi Tsereteli and Kakutsa Cholokashvili streets in Tbilisi’s Vake district is nearing completion.

According to Tbilisi City Hall, on September 8, from 06:00 to 14:00, traffic will be completely restricted on the section from Ilia Chavchavadze Avenue N76 (near the Ukrainian Embassy) to Tskneti Highway N6 due to an event marking the completion of the project.

During this period, vehicles travelling from Ilia Chavchavadze Avenue towards Tskneti Highway will be redirected via the road bridge connecting Tamarashvili Avenue, University Street, and Bagebi-University Street. Traffic coming from Tskneti Highway and the Bagebi settlement towards Chavchavadze Avenue will also be routed through the same bridge. In addition, vehicles from Bagebi heading to Chavchavadze Avenue will have access to the Samkharauli Forensic Bureau.

As for public transport, bus routes N309, N351, and N358, which were operating on shortened routes during the rehabilitation, will now run up to the area near Vake Park.

From 14:00 on September 8, both road traffic and public transport in the rehabilitated area will be fully restored in all directions. All public transport routes will resume normal operations, City Hall announced.
