Under the leadership of Georgia’s Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, a commission convened to select candidates for the National Teacher Award, the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth reported.
After reviewing around 400 applications from across the country, the commission identified 10 teachers with outstanding records. These educators will receive a specially designed badge and a cash prize of 10,000 GEL on October 27, National Teacher’s Day.
“We continue the tradition – today a commission was assembled, staffed with well-known figures, distinguished teachers, and public representatives. It was a challenging task, as we received about 400 applications, each highlighting extraordinary educators. Studying their achievements in detail allowed us to appreciate the remarkable contribution our teachers make to shaping future generations,” said Minister Givi Mikanadze.
This year, on the initiative of Minister Mikanadze, regional award ceremonies are being held across Georgia until October 10. Teachers recognized at these regional events will join the final celebration at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theater on October 27.
