Georgia’s Minister of Culture, Tinatin Rukhadze, has resigned from her position.

In a statement, Tinatin Rukhadze confirmed she stepped down for health reasons.

“Following consultations with the Prime Minister, I have decided to step down from the position of Minister of Culture. For health reasons, I will need to undergo a special course of medical treatment, which means I will be unable to carry out the Minister’s duties properly. Culture is a domain that demands exceptional care and devotion. I am deeply saddened that my health does not permit me to give the necessary attention to the work I love so dearly and treasure above all else.

I express my gratitude to the Prime Minister for the trust placed in me. My thanks also go to every member of the Government for their support and camaraderie.

I thank everyone who backed our initiatives. A special word of thanks goes to each employee of the Ministry of Culture for their tireless work and dedicated service.

I remain a steadfast supporter and wish you all every success,” read Tinatin Rukhadze’s statement.
