Tether's Chief Executive: Georgia has long-term vision and understanding of digital assets' importance; we want Georgia to be at forefront
“Georgia has a long-term vision and a clear understanding of the importance of digital assets, of financial inclusion, and of bringing people into this technology. We are therefore immensely proud to be taking part in discussions with the Georgian government and to have their support,” declared Tether’s Chief Executive Officer, Paolo Ardoino, in an address at the presentation of Tether’s investment project.
He added that he wants Georgia to be at the forefront and to advance in the direction they have planned together.
“It is a great honour for me to represent this company before you. We first came to Georgia three years ago. I am Italian, and the smiling faces and the remarkable atmosphere in your country struck me. You have extraordinary cuisine, and I say that as an Italian, which makes the recognition all the more significant. Recognition of your wine, your culture, your food; it is all quite phenomenal. I wish to express my deepest gratitude to the Prime Minister of Georgia, the ministers, members of parliament, the Mayor of Tbilisi, and the President of the National Bank for their kind invitation and for the opportunity to witness significant evolution and development in Georgia. By evolution, I mean the consolidation of digital assets; these assets are scattered across the world, but the greatest benefit will accrue to those countries that seize this opportunity first. Georgia is among them. Georgia has a long-term vision and a clear understanding of the importance of digital assets, of inclusion, and of bringing people into this technology. We are therefore immensely proud to be participating in discussions with the Georgian government and to enjoy their support. We want Georgia to be at the forefront and to move in the direction we have planned.
We are driving this initiative towards the creation of a local stablecoin, the digitalisation of the Georgian economy, and the digitalisation of assets. This is a new ecosystem that will expand and help Georgia to be embraced more broadly and openly across the world.
In recent years, Tether has been active across various sectors of the economy, making investments in new business ventures, start-ups, and real estate. These areas continue to grow, and we can expect to see further successes. My thanks to the Prime Minister of Georgia; a phenomenal achievement has been made, and everyone should take pride in the results we have witnessed over the past several years. We are grateful, and we hope that following these conversations, we will see tangible results as well,” Paolo Ardoino declared.
