Teleskola Mathematics Online Olympiad winner announced

Demetre Tsurtsumia from Georgia’s western city of Kutaisi has won the second season of the Teleskola (Telechool) Mathematics Online Olympiad. The top 30 were also unveiled today, with 10 of them receiving the greatest prizes. The teachers of the finalists also got certificates.

Online Olympiad was held via 1TVplay, with 42,000 users downloading the very app in the past two years. In total, about 7,000 pupils participated in the Olympiad.

GPB Director General Tinatin Berdzenishvili noted that the Online Olympiad this year was highlighted by a record number of participants and fierce competition. She went on to say that the online Olympiad was successful and that other disciplines would be introduced in the future.

“I am very proud that 3,200 pupils registered this year, and 27 cities participated. These figures, I believe, set a new high. There was a lot of competition. If you look at the Olympiad problems, they would be tough for us parents to solve, thus I believe that those who made the top ten are all winners,” Tinatin Berdzenishvili remarked.

The Olympiad, seeking to boost pupils’ mathematical and logical skills, was open for 5th-6th graders of public schools.
