Ted Poe – Georgia Support Act confirms US standpoint that Georgia should become NATO member

Georgia Support Act confirms full support of US to Georgia and the position that Georgia should become a NATO member – Congressman Ted Poe said during the meeting with Chairman of Georgian Parliament Irakli Kobakhidze.

“The Congress should clearly confirm its commitment to Georgia and its independence and should demonstrate that occupation of Georgian territories by foreign force – Russia is unacceptable. US does not support occupation of Georgia’s territories, Ted Poe said.

According to Press Service of Georgian Parliament, Georgia Support Act presented by co-chairmen of Group of Friends of Georgia in the US Congress reiterates support to Georgia’s territorial integrity and state sovereignty as well as to the country’s aspiration to become integrated into European and Euro-Atlantic structures.
