Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced that the annual public holiday Tbilisoba will be held on September 20-21 this year. The decision to mark the celebration earlier than usual is linked to the upcoming local elections scheduled for October 4.
According to Kaladze, the festivities will once again center around Orbeliani Square and Rike Park, offering visitors a rich two-day program of cultural, entertainment, and family-oriented events.
On September 20, the traditional award ceremony honouring distinguished residents of Tbilisi will take place at the State Palace of Ceremonies, with live television coverage. The following evening, September 21, a gala concert featuring Georgian pop artists will be staged at Europe Square.
Additional activities include exhibitions, theatrical performances, children’s programs, and the exhibition-sale “Tbilisi Diversity” in Abanotubani, running across both days. Rike Park will also host children’s performances alongside musical events. The main gala concert is set to begin on September 21 at 8:00 p.m. at Europe Square.
Kaladze noted that the municipality will provide further details about the program in the coming days.
