Tbilisi TV Tower illuminates in flag colors of Dominican Republic

On the occasion of the Independence Day of the Dominican Republic, the Tbilisi TV Tower was illuminated in the colors of the national flag of the Dominican Republic.

Today, the Dominican Republic celebrates the proclamation of the independence from Haiti. 182 years have passed since the War for Independence, which ended on 27 February 1844 with the country’s liberation from Haitian rule.

This date is marked throughout the Republic with a variety of ceremonial events such as a festive parade as well as a traditional costumed carnival, for which citizens make special preparations in advance.
