Tbilisi Mayor: Radicals to face appropriate response from society, whether parties unite or remain separate
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze dismissed the potential impact of opposition unity ahead of elections, emphasizing that radicals within the opposition are destined for failure. He characterized them as a single group with a common owner, suggesting they operate under different names but lack essential unity.
“In reality, they are one group with one owner. They may operate under different names, but this distinction is inconsequential, much like their unity. Radicals are fated for failure. Since 2012, these individuals have sought to destabilize our country, fostering discord and societal division. Clearly, such efforts are bound to fail,” he said.
Regarding claims of new faces within the opposition, Kaladze accused them of misleading the public, asserting that these individuals are actually old faces associated with the National Movement.
“The UNM was not solely Mikheil Saakashvili. It comprised figures known for dubious actions – Gvaramia, Bokeria, Melia, and others. Therefore, society recognizes that regardless of their alliances or separations, the Georgian Dream stands a real chance to secure a constitutional majority in the parliamentary elections. Whether specific parties unite or remain separate, radicals will inevitably face the appropriate response from society,” Kakha Kaladze asserted.
