Tbilisi Mayor on supplying occupied Abkhazia with fuel: Business is free, decisions, moves should comply with law
“We always take steps which are significant for our country and for the restoration of its territorial integrity,” said Kakha Kaladze, Tbilisi Mayor, responding to the question on supplying the occupied Abkhazia region with fuel.
According to Kaladze, opposition representatives make anti-state statements attempting to obstruct the restoration of Georgia’s territorial integrity.
“With their behavior and statements, they try their best and will attempt to obstruct the restoration of Georgia’s territorial integrity since they are stateless individuals, and Georgia is merely a territory for them. They lack the feeling that Georgia is a motherland. They are instructed from abroad and represent agents. Therefore, they act in line with received directives, while we always take steps which are significant for our country and for the restoration of its territorial integrity,” he said.
Tbilisi Mayor further explained that the government’s steps fall within the Law on Occupation.
“Relations between peoples are of great significance. Accordingly, we will do our best to restore the country’s territorial integrity and succeed in coexisting with the Abkhazians, whether through medical assistance, support regarding fuel supplies, or other significant matters,” he said.
