Tbilisi Mayor Kaladze: Politician status makes no shield for breaking the law
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze responded to media inquiries regarding the arrest of Nika Gvaramia, emphasizing that the government will take appropriate action in any case of legal violation.
Kaladze stated that it does not matter whether a person is a politician or not; everyone is equally accountable.
“What we are witnessing is not the first instance of law violations by some politicians. When you break the law, your status as a politician cannot serve as a shield. The government will act within the bounds of the law and will take appropriate measures,” Kaladze affirmed.
The preventive measure for Nika Gvaramia, leader of the Coalition for Change, was changed to bail detention. This adjustment was due to his failure to pay the bail.
