Tbilisi Mayor: Ivanishvili's role in Georgian politics extends beyond party interests

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze declares that the opposition parties’ representatives are primarily striving to surpass the five per cent threshold in the upcoming parliamentary elections, while the ruling political team holds the only concrete plan for the country’s development.

The mayor made this statement in response to the opposition’s claims, suggesting that Bidzina Ivanishvili returned to politics because of the ruling party’s potential loss in the 2024 parliamentary elections.

“We are the team with the strength to navigate Georgian politics, safeguard the interests of our country and people, maintain peace, and propel economic development. Bidzina Ivanishvili’s role in Georgian politics is crucial, extending beyond party interests. His role is unique and vital for our country and future,” stated Kakha Kaladze.

He continued, “The opposition is struggling to overcome the electoral threshold. Georgian Dream has a significant opportunity to secure victory in the 2024 elections and gain a constitutional majority in the next parliament”.
