Tbilisi Mayor announces new program for purchase of crumbling residential buildings in cultural heritage protection zone
“A new program for the purchase of crumbling residential buildings in the cultural heritage protection zone has been enacted with certain conditions,” Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced at the municipal government meeting.
According to the Mayor, residents of crumbling houses will have the opportunity to make a decision instead of waiting for an investor.
Kakha Kaladze familiarized society with the requirements for joining the program.
“The degree of collapse of residential building must be Category V or IV; all owners of the crumbling building must agree to the redemption; The demolition should not pose a threat to the nearby buildings. If any threat, the City Hall will engage owners of adjacent land plots in the program with the same conditions,” he said.
Tbilisi Mayor added that programs for crumbling housing are underway in the capital, within the framework of which dozens of projects are already in progress.
