Tbilisi hosts international conference on comprehensive approach to crime prevention

The Ministry of Justice organized a conference on July 25 to enhance inter-agency cooperation in crime prevention and probation, coinciding with the Day of Crime Prevention, Enforcement of Non-custodial Sentences, and Probation Agency.

The event aims to promote the professional development of specialists, exchange information on services and resources, and share innovative approaches introduced in Georgia, such as the PROBBOX, Digital University, and crime prevention courses for school teachers.

The conference also serves as a platform for Georgia to learn from the best practices of European countries, aiding in the rehabilitation and resocialization of offenders and the prevention of repeat crimes.

Minister of Justice Rati Bregadze opened the conference, followed by a welcome speech from Lado Kheladze, head of the Crime Prevention, Non-custodial Sentences Enforcement, and Probation Agency.

Over the two-day conference, professionals will discuss topics such as probation systems in European countries, state and societal involvement in crime prevention, and rehabilitation and resocialization opportunities.
