Tbilisi hosts Inclusive Green Growth Conference. Pawel Herczynski, EU Ambassador to Georgia opened the conference. He said the event aimed to help Georgia develop quickly and catch up with the EU.
“Today’s event is focusing on greening Georgia’s economy, on inclusive growth, and small and medium-sized businesses. I’m really glad that we have a team Europe approach, so different parts of EU architecture, and different stakeholders are present here, including the European Investment Bank in order to support Georgia’s economic development, especially focusing on environmentally friendly new technologies and inclusive growth.
This is about diminishing the distance between urban cities, big cities, like Tbilisi, and rural areas, and also focusing on small and medium-sized enterprises, which are the backbone of the Georgian economy. The whole idea is about helping Georgia to develop very quickly and to catch up with the European Union so that the upcoming membership will be as smooth as possible,” he said.
