Tbilisi hosts Green Climate Fund Regional Dialogue
Georgian Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Davit Songhulashvili addressed the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Regional Dialogue opening in Tbilisi.
The event brings together high-ranking officials from Eastern Europe, Central Asia, international partners and interested stakeholders.
“Climate change is an increasingly acute challenge for our region and is already having a significant impact on our countries and populations. Strengthening resilience to climate change and developing a sustainable economy are priorities for Georgia.
In partnership with the Green Climate Fund, Georgia is taking significant steps toward reducing climate risks, strengthening early warning systems, and ensuring sustainable forest management. Our goal is to transform regional cooperation into concrete projects, and those projects into investments and tangible results.
We aim to be not only beneficiaries of international climate cooperation but also active partners who share their experience with others and facilitate the implementation of practical regional initiatives,” said the Minister.
A round-table meeting and thematic and panel discussions were held within the framework of the event.
